Summerhill is probably best known for its wonderful Railway Station LCBO and that it neighbours the most prestigious downtown locale, Rosedale. Historically speaking, Summerhill has not had many condo buildings.
Summerhill has long been known as a quaint neighbourhood with fantastic century architecture. Great clubs, from The Toronto Lawn and Tennis and York Racquets Club to the Badminton and Racquet Club of Toronto – there are fantastic social and athletic options. There are many fantastic restaurants dotting Yonge Street, which makes for a great living experience in Summerhill.
Yonge Street corridor is evolving to house more density as the city of Toronto grows. There are some amazing new projects for the uber-elite that are beginning to pop up. Let’s get started:
Best Condos in Summerhill
Scrivener Square
Scrivener Square comprises two buildings, 20 and 25 Scrivener Square (Thornwood I & II respectively). If you cannot picture these buildings, perhaps picturing the Summerhill LCBO (railway station) will jog your memory. From the day it was completed, this development has stood to be one of the finest developments in downtown Toronto.
The front desk is extremely professional; the finishings are exceptional. These condos sell for much more than the downtown average value, no matter how the condo market is performing. I always have someone looking for a condo in this building. It’s ideal for the young professional getting their first condo through to the wealthy downsizer from Lawrence Park and Rosedale. There is a very fine space for everyone in this building.
Hill & Dale Residences
Subliming straddling Summerhill and Rosedale at 1 Roxborough Street East and Yonge Street – this ultra-luxury five-storey boutique condo development offers fifteen condos. The modern glassy facade has a unique way of mirroring and reflecting the sky surrounding this property. Built in 2019, this project offered a real step forward for modern living in Summerhill and Rosedale. A sign of more to come.

Jack Condos
Jack Condos at 6 Jackes Ave is yet another example of finer living in Summerhill. Similar to Hill & Dale above, it offers premium quality but with a more accessible price tag as there are a select few one-bedroom units sub 600 square feet. Aspen and Quadrangle teamed up in 2018 to create this beautiful project. The valet offering, 24-hour concierge and fantastic gym offer great convenience in an already convenient location.
The Oaklands
This is an often overlooked development on Avenue Road near De La Salle College. The Units are larger due to the era in which the building was constructed. Many units boast large terraces. Despite being on Avenue Road, this building offers quiet streets to stroll towards all the amenities you could want on Yonge Street (through traffic is restricted from Avenue to Yonge).

38 Avoca
This is a well-run condo with access to the ravine system of Toronto. Many of these condos are very spacious with superior views to the east and to the south.
Honourable Mentions:
As alluded to above, there are new condos on the way that will certainly be amongst the best condos in Summerhill. Other condos worth mentioning: Roxborough, 33 Jackes Condos, there are many boutique conversions scattered through Summerhill as well.
What To Expect Of Summerhill Condos In The Years To Come
As Toronto grows in population and wealth, we will see a continued development of luxury-oriented amenities, modernity, aesthetics, and services that will dwarf today’s standards. We can be assured that outside of Yorkville, the next most exclusive condos in the city will be for decades to come in the Summerhill and Rosedale neighbourhoods.
If you take a stroll down Yonge Street, you will see countless condo building zoning proposals; we will slowly say farewell to the smaller two-story shops, the low-rise apartments and the parking lots that line the streets. You can expect the envelope to be pushed with high-end excellence from some of Toronto’s finest developers.
